There are some interesting animals and birds here, other, of course, than the guests.

We introduced you to our old friend, the crocodile, in our first posting. Here is how he appeared today.

And also (Is it something I said?).

Joining him on the grounds is Iggy, the iguana and his family. You can see him walking on the paths of the grounds, but he scurries away when he hears you approaching.

Then there is the ibis and his spouse. He wanders around pecking in the grass looking for his dinner.

There are also a number of different species of other birds. We can see a type of blackbird who is always scavenging the the restaurant (remember it is out of doors in the palapa. One of them has no toes on one his feet, but he gets around pretty well neverthless.

Out in the lagoon not far from us there is a small island that was a few years ago a wonderful bird sanctuary. After the hurricane in 2005, things changed and there seems to be not place for the birds to nest there. We do see small flocks of frigate birds that occasionally circle the island.

And finally, there is the friendly little mosquito who manages to find a feast on Erwin about every other day. I am sure that there are other living creatures here but we just haven't spotted them yet.
